The USDA’s latest Prices Received Index rose 1% month-over-month and 7.2% year-over-year, reflecting overall stronger returns for farmers compared to 2024.

Crop Production Index: up 2.4% MoM, 4.7% YoY
Livestock Production Index: down 2.5% MoM, but up 6.1% YoY

Higher prices were seen for cattle, strawberries, calves, and lettuce, while prices fell for eggs, broilers, corn, and grapes.

As always, both price and volume marketed play a role in these shifts—August saw increased movement of cattle and calves, while wheat and soybeans trended down.
